David M. Gates, M.D., Ph.D., FACP

Education

Dr. Gates is a 1975 graduate of Arizona State University. He received his Ph.D. (Molecular Biology) in 1979 from the University of Southern California. His M.D. degree was received from the University of Juarez in 1984. He completed a three year residency in Internal Medicine at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Board Certification

Dr. Gates is certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Hospital Practice
Dr. Gates serves on the staff of Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, VA.

Interests

Dr. Gates practices hospital medicine in Richmond, VA.

He is a Senior Clinical Director for PrimeDoc/Eagle Hospital Physicians, and is Medical Director for Hospital Medicine at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center.

His particular clinical experience include emergency medicine, intensive care medicine, and hospital medicine. He is very active in medical administration. He is a licensed private pilot, with instrument rating and complex airplane endorsement. He was formerly an FAA-designated aviation medical examiner.

He resides in Marana, Arizona.
