Is there a minimum rate and/or duration? Yes rate is negotiable depending on location and assignment. It is impractical to travel to a remote destination for an assignment less than 7 days. Does shift matter (days/nights)? No, however a mixed block is inefficient and is discouraged. Is Dr. Gates competent and comfortable in the ICU? Yes. ICU has historically been a part of the internist’s repertoire and he has actively practiced ICU medicine. Intubation? Central lines? Dr. Gates is competent in both, both on clinical and CME grounds. He has recently completed both the Difficult Airway course as well as the course in use of ultrasound for screening and line placement. How much lead time is required? Flight Level requires a minimum of 6 weeks notice, and greater lead time is preferable. Credentialing? Flight Level expects full cooperation and assistance on the part of the hospital Medical Staff office. Basic credentialing documents are downloadable from this web site (password protected). Dr. Gates has a profile recorded with FCVS and the New Mexico Hospital Credentialing Service. References? Available upon request. |
